单词 年幼
释义 〔young〕Being in an early period of life, development, or growth.年幼的:处于生命、发展或成长的早期的〔toady〕A toady is not a pleasant individual, and the origin of the word makes being a toady even less pleasant.Toady is obviously derived from the word toad. The-y suffix can have diminutive force, and the earliest recorded sense (around 1690) oftoady (now obsolete), "a little or young toad,” illustrates this force. The sense we know has nothing to do with baby toadsbut rather with the practice of certain quacks or charlatans who claimed that they could cast out poison.Toads were thought to be poisonous,so these charlatans would have an attendant eat a toad or pretend to eat oneand then remove the poison from the attendant.Such an attendant is obviously a type of person who would do anything, and thustoadeater (first recorded 1629) was the perfect name for a flattering, fawning parasite. Toadeater and the verb derived from it, toadeat, influenced the sense of the noun and verb toad and the noun toady, so that both nouns could mean "sycophant"and the verbtoady could mean "to act like a toady to someone.” Toadeater 和从它衍生而来的动词 toadeat 影响了作为名词或动词的 toad 和作为名词 toady 的含义, 于是二个名词都可以理解为“拍马者”的意思,而动词toady 有“在某人面前象一个拍马者一样行动”的意思 〔rear〕To care for (children or a child) during the early stages of life; bring up.抚养:养育照顾年幼的(孩子们或孩子);培养〔regent〕One who rules during the minority, absence, or disability of a monarch.摄政王:在一个君主年幼、离开或无能力期间治理的人〔squab〕Young and undeveloped; newly hatched or unfledged:年幼的和未完全发育的;刚刚孵出或者未长满羽毛的:〔calf〕A young cow or bull.小牛:年幼的母牛或公牛〔custodian〕the custodian of a minor child's estate; the custodian of an absentee landlord's property.年幼孩子财产的监护人;地主外出时其地产的看管人〔chit〕Middle English [young animal] 中古英语 [年幼的动物] 〔heifer〕A young cow, especially one that has not yet given birth to a calf.小母牛:年幼的母牛,尤指未曾生过牛犊者〔brit〕The young of herring and similar fish.幼鲱:年幼的鲱鱼和类似的鱼〔falconet〕A small or young falcon.小隼:一种小型的或年幼的隼〔squab〕A young, newly hatched, or unfledged pigeon.雏鸽:年幼的,刚刚孵出或未长满羽毛的鸽子〔green〕Not mature or ripe; young:未成熟的:未成熟的,年幼的;年青的:〔green〕Not aged:年幼的:未成年的:〔pig〕Any of several mammals of the family Suidae, having short legs, cloven hoofs, bristly hair, and a cartilaginous snout used for digging, especially the domesticated hog,Sus scrofa, when young or of comparatively small size. 猪:一种猪科哺乳动物,长有短腿、分践蹄,钢硬的毛和软骨的大鼻子,用于挖掘,尤指家畜猪,当其年幼或体形相对较小时,野猪 〔choice〕Parents should exercise care in their selection of the movies their young children see.家长们在为他们年幼的孩子们挑选所看的电影时应小心谨慎。〔poult〕A young fowl, especially a turkey, chicken, or pheasant.幼禽:年幼的家禽,尤指小火鸡、小鸡或小雉〔leave〕left a young son.死后留下一个年幼的儿子
