单词 考虑到
释义 〔fit〕These adjectives mean right or correct in view of existing circumstances. They are often interchangeable.考虑到存在环境时,这些形容词都意为“恰当的或正确的”且通常可以互换。〔relevant〕The thought may have been apropos, but I suppressed its expression out of consideration of their feelings. irrelevant 这个想法可能是中肯的,但是我考虑到他们的感受而压制住没有把它给表达出来 irrelevant〔considering〕You managed the project well, considering your inexperience.See Usage Note at participle 考虑到你缺乏经验,对你来说,这个方案你已处理得很好了 参见 participle〔allow〕To take a possibility into account; make allowance:考虑,顾及:考虑到某种可能性;考虑到客观情况,体谅:〔allowance〕an allowance for breakage; made allowances for rush-hour traffic in estimating travel time.考虑到破损情况;估计旅行所需时间时考虑到尖峰时间交通堵塞的情况〔consideration〕In view of; on account of:考虑到;由于:〔Scottish〕Scottish is the full, original form of the adjective. Scots is an old Scottish variant of the form; Scotch is an English contraction of Scottish that at one time also came into use in Scotland ( as in Burns's"O thou, my Muse! guid auld Scotch drink!” ) but subsequently fell into disfavor. To some extent these facts can serve as a guide in choosing among the many variant forms of related words, such asScot, Scotsman or Scotswoman, or Scotchman or Scotchwoman, for one of the people of Scotland; Scots, (the) Scotch, or, rarely, (the) Scottish for the people of Scotland; andScots, Scotch, or Scottish for the dialect of English spoken in Scotland. The forms based onScotch are English and disfavored in Scotland, while those involving the full formScottish tend to be more formal. In the interest of civility, forms involvingScotch are best avoided in reference to people. But there is no sure rule for referring to things, since the history of variation in the use of these words has also left many expressions in which the choice is fixed, such asScotch broth, Scotch whisky, Scottish rite, and Scots Guards. See Synonyms at thoughtful 体谅的:考虑到他人需要或感情的、或以这种考虑为特征的 参见 thoughtful〔tare〕A deduction from gross weight made to allow for the weight of a container.考虑到重量从毛重中减去的一个容器的重量〔what〕Taking into consideration; because of:因为,由于考虑到考虑到,由于:〔consider〕To take into account; bear in mind:考虑到;顾及:〔allow〕In calculating profit, retailers must allow for breakage and spoilage.计算利润时,零售商们必须考虑到破碎和损坏情况〔mannequin〕A department store mannequin is often not a man and often not little, yetmannequin goes back to the Middle Dutch word mannekijn, the diminutive form ofman. Of course we must consider the fact thatman in Dutch, as in English, has often been used to mean "person.” As for the size of a mannequin, the Middle Dutch word could mean "dwarf" but in Modern Dutch developed the specialized sense of "an artist's jointed model.”This was the sense in which we adopted the word (first recorded in 1570),another term likeeasel and landscape that was taken over from the terminology of Dutch painters of the time. The word borrowed from Dutch now has the formmanikin. We later adopted the French version of the Dutch word as well, giving Englishmannequin. Mannequinis considered to be first recorded in a dictionary published from 1730 to 1736 or in 1902,depending on whether one regards early forms showing French influence as variants ofmanikin or as representations of a new word. In any event, mannequin is now the form most commonly encountered and the one commonly used for a department store dummy as well as a live model. 不论如何,mannequin 一词现在已经是最为常见的形式了, 通常用来表示百货商店里的人体模型或真人模特〔whole〕All parts or aspects considered; altogether:所有部分和方面都考虑到;整个看来:〔overlook〕To fail to notice or consider; miss.漏看:没有注意或考虑到;遗漏〔through〕Because of; on account of:因为;考虑到〔what〕"I've often wondered why some good crime writer . . . hasn't taken up with New Orleans, what with its special raffishness, its peculiar flavor of bonhomie and a slightly suspect charm"(Walker Percy)“考虑到它那特殊的大胆不羁,它特有的欢乐气氛的风味以及它略为人所怀疑的魅力,我时常纳闷为什么一些很好的犯罪小说作家还没有对新奥尔产生兴趣”(沃克·珀西)〔discount〕To anticipate and make allowance for; reckon with in advance.预期,事先考虑:预料并减轻其影响;提前考虑到〔altogether〕On the whole; with everything considered:总之,总而言之:总之;把所有事都考虑到〔retire〕Despite the upbeat books written about retiringand the fact that it is a well-earned time of relaxation from the daily rigors of work, many people do not find it a particularly pleasant prospect.Perhaps the etymology ofretire may hint at why. The ultimate source of our word is the Old French wordretirer, made up of the prefixre-, meaning in this case "back,” and the verb tirer, "to draw,” together meaning "to take back or withdraw.” The first use of the English wordretire is recorded in 1533 in reference to a military force that withdraws. It is not until 1667 that we find the word used to mean "to withdraw from a position for more leisure.”In regard to the sting in all thiswe need to look at the source oftirer, "to draw, draw out, endure,”which ultimately may be from Old Frenchmartir, "a martyr,” probably reflecting the fact that martyrs had to endure the torture of being stretched up to and beyond the point of dislocating their bones. 考虑到发生的状况,可以理解他们的愤怒〔hubbub〕It has often been remarked that the Celtic inhabitants of Great Britain contributed very little to the stock of English words.Perhaps this should not be too surprising, given the difficult relations over the centuries between the people of Germanic stock and the people of Celtic stock in England and Ireland. It seems likely that a certain English contempt resides in the adoption of the wordhubbub from a Celtic source, which is probably related toub ub ubub, a Scots Gaelic interjection expressing contempt,or toabu, an ancient Irish war cry. In any case, hubbub was first recorded (1555) in the phrase Irish hubbub and meant "the confused shouting of a crowd.”In addition to the senses it has developed, hubbub was again used, possibly in a nonflattering way, by the New England colonists as a term for a rambunctious game played by Native Americans. 除了它本身就有的意思外,hubbub 一词又被新英格兰的殖民者用来指印第安人的一种野蛮的游戏,但这一用法可能不讨人喜欢 〔when〕Considering that; if:考虑到,如果:〔participle〕The "dangling participle" is quite common in speech, where it often passes unremarked;but its use in writing can lead to unintentional absurdities,as in He went to watch his horse take a turn around the track carrying a copy of the breeders' guide under his arm. Even when the construction occasions no ambiguity,it is likely to distract the reader, who will ordinarily be operating on the assumption that a participle or other modifying phrase will be associated with the noun phrase that is immediately adjacent to it.Thus the sentenceTurning the corner, the view was quite different would be better rewritten as The view was quite different when we turned the corner or Turning the corner, we saw a different view. · A number of expressions originally derived from active participles are now well established as prepositions of a kind, and these may be used freely to introduce phrases that are not associated with the immediately adjacent noun phrase.Such expressions includeconcerning, considering, failing, granting, judging by, and speaking of. Thus one may writeSpeaking of politics, the elections have been postponed or Considering the hour, it is surprising that he arrived at all. 由此我们就可以这样写考虑到政治因素,将选举延期了 或 就时间来说,他在任何情况下到来都令人惊讶 〔than〕Since the 18th centurygrammarians have insisted thatthan should be regarded as a conjunction in all its uses, so that a sentence such asBill is taller than Tom should be construed as an elliptical version of the sentence Bill is taller than Tom is. According to this view, the case of a pronoun followingthan is determined by whether the pronoun serves as the subject or object of the verb that is "understood.” Thus, the standard rule requiresPat is taller than I (not me ) on the assumption that this sentence is elliptical forPat is taller than I am but allowsThe news surprised Pat more than me, since this sentence is taken as elliptical forThe news surprised Pat more than it surprised me. However, than is quite commonly treated as a preposition when followed by an isolated noun phrase, and as such occurs with a pronoun in the objective case:John is taller than me. Though this usage is still widely regarded as incorrect,it is predominant in speechand has reputable literary precedent. It is also consistent with the fact thatthan is clearly treated as a preposition in the than whom construction, as ina poet than whom (not than who ) no one has a dearer place in the hearts of his countrymen. Still, the writer who risks a sentence such asMary is taller than him in formal writing must be prepared to defend the usage against objections of critics who are unlikely to be dissuaded from their conviction that the usage is incorrect. · Comparatives usingas . . . as can be analyzed in a parallel way to those using than. Traditional grammarians insist thatI am not as tall as he is the only correct form, and though both literary precedent and syntactic arguments can be marshaled in support of the analysis of the secondas as a preposition (which would license I am not as tall as him ), one should treat this use ofas as a conjunction in formal writing. See Usage Note at as 1自18世纪以来,语法学家坚持以为than 在其所有用法中均应被看作连词, 因此,在诸如Bill is taller than Tom 的句子中应解释为句子 Bill is taller than Tom is 的省略说法。 根据这一观点,than 后跟随代词的情况取决于该代词作为所“理解”的动词的主语还是谓语。 这样,标准规则要求Pat is taller than I (而不是 me ), 考虑到这个句子是Pat is taller than I am 的省略, 但允许The news surprised Pat more than me , 因为这个句子被认当是The news surprised Pat more than it surprised me 的省略。 然而,当than 跟随一个独立名词短语时常被看作是介词, 如代词用于宾语的情况:John is taller than me 。 尽管这种用法仍然被广泛认为是错误的,但它仍在口语中占主要地位,并且有著名的文学先例。它也符合than 在 than whom 结构中显然被认为是介词的事实, 就象在a poet than whom (而不是 than who ) no one has a dearer place in the hearts of his countrymen 。 然而,冒险在正式写作中应用诸如Mary is taller than him 的作者必须准备针对那些不可能被劝服放弃坚信这种用法是错误的批评家们的反对意见而对此种用法进行辩护。 用比较级as…as 可以用与 than 相同的方式进行分析。 传统的语法学家坚持认为I am not as tall as he 是唯一正确的形式, 尽管文学先例和语法规则都能支持第二个as 作为介词(即允许 I am not as tall as him )的分析, 我们仍应该把这个as 作为正式写作中的连词 参见 as1〔under〕In view of; because of:考虑到…;因为…:〔cover〕To make provision for; take into account:为…做准备;考虑到〔considering〕In view of; taking into consideration:鉴于;考虑到〔point〕A place or locality considered with regard to its position:地点:考虑到位置的地方或方位:〔consideration〕turned back in consideration of the worsening weather.考虑到正在恶化的天气而返回〔serve〕Punish him; it will serve him right for what he has done to you.惩罚他;考虑到他对你的所做所为这样对他是他罪有应得
