Adding-ling to an adverb produced a noun referring to something having the position or condition denoted by the adverb: from Old Englishunder came underling. The last use of the-ling family to be described here was actually borrowed from another Germanic source, Old Norse. The Old Norse version of the-ling suffix was used to form diminutives; thus, our wordgosling was a borrowing in Middle English of an Old Norse word, gæslingr, "gosling.” 在古挪威语中-ling 这一后缀被用作小后缀; 这样,我们的单词gosling 便是中世纪英语中的一个外来词,来源于古挪威语单词 goeslingr, “小鹅” 〔list〕To furrow or plant (land) with a lister.耕地:耕地或用起垅机耕作(土地)〔agrarian〕Relating to or concerning the land and its ownership, cultivation, and tenure.土地的,耕地的;土地所有制的:关于土地和土地所有制、耕种和使用权的〔field〕A cultivated expanse of land, especially one devoted to a particular crop:耕地:耕地,尤指用来种植某种农作物:〔infield〕A field located near a farmhouse.耕地:农舍周围的耕地〔agriculture〕The science, art, and business of cultivating the soil, producing crops, and raising livestock; farming.农艺;农业:关于耕地、生产农作物和饲养牲畜的科学、工艺和行业;农业〔swidden〕An area cleared for temporary cultivation by cutting and burning the vegetation.临时耕地:铲除或烧掉植被暂时用于耕种的田地〔convert〕convert a forest into farmland.把森林变成耕地〔tilth〕Tilled earth.耕地:耕过的土地〔latifundio〕A large landed estate in Spain or Latin America.大领土,广大耕地:在西班牙或拉丁美洲拥有的大片土地〔rototill〕To cultivate or dig with a rototiller:旋耕:用旋耕机耕地或用旋转碎土器碎土: |
